Ever wonder where computer fonts come from? Most never give a second thought to the source or origin of fonts. There they are on our computer's operating system or embedded in an illustration software program. And we use them continually with great success but with little or no realization that a font is a software program created by an actual person dedicated to the art and craft of drawing typefaces.

Creating one's own unique font can add to the creativity and originality of any design. It is a challenging task; but the end result is well worth the effort. Whether one produces a digital font or not, one should never take fonts for granted again. Use them with the knowledge that they were created by a fellow artist who deserves our admiration and gratitude.
